Geologic Background:

A submarine volcano detected by GLORIA side-scan mapping. Summit 1350 m below sea level rising from a seafloor at about 2300 m depth. Basal diameter of 16 to 18 km. Side-scan and photographic data show a complex terrain of lava flows and talus fans on the flank.
